Employer preparation
Employer Sponsorship Readiness Checklist
This checklist helps employers organise a useful first conversation. It does not assess whether a business, role or candidate meets migration requirements.

Describe the business and workforce need
Prepare a factual snapshot of the business, the role and why the recruitment need has arisen.
- Legal business name and operating locations
- A plain-English role summary
- The intended work location
- The business contact responsible for the enquiry
Organise the recruitment context
Bring the information already available. A registered migration agent can explain which details may matter after considering the circumstances.
- How and when the role has been recruited
- Whether a candidate has been identified
- The candidate’s current country or Australian state
- Known timing constraints
Protect business and candidate information
Do not send passports, bank records or full personnel files through a general form. Blue Ocean can explain an appropriate secure process if further documents are required.
Official sources
Use current official information as the baseline. These links do not turn general preparation material into personalised advice.
Continue with clarity
Keep the guide. Prepare the conversation.
